Acknowledgments

By far the majority of the credit for this product goes to the organizations and individuals that created the data layers which combine to constitute this integrated GIS. Many of these content creators are identified in the metadata that accompanies each data layer.

In the actual production of the GIS and CD-ROM, many individuals and agencies have contributed data, assistance, advice and support. David Albert performed the GIS work necessary to produce a single integrated system as well as shepherded much of the CD production. Philip Hooge worked tirelessly as a technical tester and content creator and made many design recommendations that greatly improved the product. We would also especially like to thank G. Fisher, J. Schaefers, and J. Day of the Tongass Land Management Planning Team, T. Faulkner of the Tongass National Forest Chatham Area Office, G. Dickison, J. Cusick and J. Piercy at the National Park Service Alaska Support Office, B. Schroeder and C. Barnhill with Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game, M. Shasby and E. Binnian at the US Geological Survey EROS Field Office, and R. McMahon of Alaska Dept. of Natural Resources. D. Brew contributed greatly with his map and knowledge of bedrock geology for Glacier Bay National Park. C. Soiseth and G. Streveler delineated and transcribed watersheds, and R. Garcia, K. Bosworth and F. Biles assisted with documentation and digitizing. G. Fay, K. Bosworth, and G. Streveler contributed content on natural history, research and resource management in the Glacier Bay Ecosystem. K.Nemeth and R.Salazar assisted with and provided access to the Glacier Bay National Park Slidefile. Finally, special thanks go to R. Hagenstein for invaluable guidance during initial phases of this project.
