Applegate Data List

GIS ArcView shape files and image files

This data list provides links describing all GIS files and relateddata on the Applegate GIS CD-ROM version 4 (July 1, 1997). GISdata are listed by directory and file name. File names link to more detailed information on files including type, origin, source scale,associated data and documentation.

Geo-spatial data and related information are contained in topical folders (directories) within the AG_DATA folder. Data documentation files are in the DOCUMENT directory.

All GIS data on this CD is based on the UTM(Universal Transverse Mercator) coordinate system and is projectedin UTM Zone 10. GIS data are in the form of ArcView Shapefiles, ArcInfo coverages, and ArcInfo grids. Geo-referenced image data are in the form of LAN files or grids.Files with an ".SHP" extension are ArcView Shapefiles. Those with a "LAN" extension are image files.

The data described here were compiled from publicly available sources. Anyavailable data documentation listed here is presented "as is." No conclusions are implied by the base data or data created through analysis. HYDRO folder — Rivers, streams and water bodies

IMAGE folder — Geospatial imagery including satellit data and digital orthophotography

L_KNOW folder — Geographic reference data "linked" to local information and knowledge and locally collected data

OR_DATA folder — Variety of base data covering the State of Oregon

OWN_ADM folder — Files related to ownership and administration, including county tax lot data

PLACES folder — Locations of landscape features and social patterns

TERRAIN folder — Files related to geomorphology including geology, soils, slope and aspect

TRANSP folder — Transportation data (roads and railroads)

VEG folder — Vegetation data

WSHED folder — Watershed delineations
