SER_DNR Polygon coverage showing three forest cover seral stage classes--late seral, mid seral, and early seral--along with non-forested, other forest, and water. ___________________________ The coverage is based on data developed from 1988 Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) satellite imagery for the Oregon Department of Forestry. Originally developed at a resolution of 25 meters this coverage has been resampled to a resolution of 100 meters. The various GRID-CODE classes are defined as follows: 1 -- Late seral stage: greater than 70% tree crown closure with greater than 10% of total crown closure in trees 21 inches diameter at breast height (dbh) or more, and not more than 75% of total crown closure in hardwoods. 2 -- Mid seral stage: greater than 70% tree crown closure with less than 10% of total crown closure in trees 21 inches diameter dbh or more, and not more than 75% of total crown closure in hardwoods. 3 -- Early seral stage: greater than 10% and less than 70% tree crown closure and not more than 75% of total crown closure in hardwoods. 4 -- Other: less than 10% crown closure of conifers and/or greater than 75% of total crown closure in hardwoods. 5 -- Water: open water. 6 -- Non-forested: not forestland as determined by 1:250,000 scale USGS landuse coverage.
