Description:

Abstract:: This coverage displays the non-surveyed boundaries of active state mining claims within the State of Alaska. Each mining claim is represented as an individual region and has an associated casefile (ADL) number and attribute data. Claim boundaries where extracted from the digital (ARC/INFO) files used to produce the state status plats. Attribute data was extracted from the DNR LAS Oracle data warehouse which is periodically updated from the LAS archives. The coverage includes all claims noted on the digital status plats by the publication date. There may be a significant delay between the the time a claim is filed with the recorders office and the time it appears on the status plat. People requiring the most current mining claims information need to contact the recorders office directly to obtain this information.
Purpose:: This coverage was developed to provide the general public with easy access to mining claims information as it appears on the state status plats.
