Abstract:

Military and Other Federal sites with potential for contamination as well as actively mitigated sites tracked in the EPA's Alaska Military Sites project.

The source of the mapping dataset is the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 10. Contributing staff were Gary Eidelberger and Ray Peterson, dated from May 16, 1996. Includes army, navy, air force, coast guard, and FAA sites.

Ecotrust obtained the data from the Alaska Community Toxics Action website and clipped to Copper River study area boundaries.

(geographic information system) map of 649 potential military contamination locations in Alaska, including 162 facilities where active mitigation is underway. The map is available as an ARC/INFO plotfile on the World Wide Web at www.epa.gov/region10/www/maplib.html
