This data contains the location of coal resources within the State of Alaska. It is based on the 1986 Map of Alaska's Coal Resources, Alaska Division of Mining and Geological & Geophysical Surveys, Special Report 37, in cooperation with the Alaska Coal Association.

Purpose:

The data provides consultants, planners, and resource managers with information on the location of coal resources.
