Interactive Maps
To begin exploring the data on your own, you can start with the interactive maps we have created. Each interactive map combines a variety of layers that are related to a broader topic. The interactive maps utilize the free GIS software, ArcExplorer 2.0, which is included on this CD. Please note that you must first install ArcExplorer 2.0 on your machine in order to view the Interactive Maps.
If you are comfortable installing ArcExplorer on your own, you can find the ArcExplorer 2.0 setup program in ArcExplorer 2.0. If you need additional help, refer to GIS Data - How To.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser (we strongly recommend its use with this CD) and you have installed ArcExplorer on your machine, you can easily open any of the interactive maps simply by clicking on any of the interactive maps (also known as ArcExplorer projects). Other browsers (such as Mozilla or Netscape) will not properly open ArcExplorer projects when you click on these links.
All of the interactive maps contained on this CD are *.AEP files (e.g. Anadromous_Fish.AEP) and can also be accessed directly from the directory CD/content/data_and_software/data.

Get started
If you are not using Internet Explorer as your web browser or are experiencing problems opening the Interactive maps for any other reason, you can simply start the now-installed ArcExplorer 2.0 program from your computer and go to "Open Project..." in the drop-down file menu.
If you've already installed ArcExplorer 2.0 and are using Internet Explorer as your web browser, you can either directly open the Interactive map by clicking the below image, or go to the interactive map directory by clicking the file path name shown below.
