Streams BLM -- BLM line 1:4,800 Developed by BLM from photo interpretation for 7.5' townships containing federal lands managed by BLM
Sub-basin Boundaries -- -- SSC-GIS polygon -- sub-basin boundaries within Coquille
Project watersheds BLM -- BLM polygon -- Project level watersheds for BLM and surrounding areas.
Detailed Land Ownership OSU 1991 SSC-GIS polygon 1:126,720 Compiled from various sources including ODF, USFS, Oregon Wilderness Society and county Assessor's records. Includes detailed ownership of public lands and private industrial forestland ownerships. Source scales vary from 1:24,000 to 1:126,720.
Forest Seral Stage ODF 1988 ODF polygon 25 meter Three broad seral stages developed through classification of Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) imagery. Includes a total of six cover classes: late seral stage; mid seral stage; early seral stage; other forest; water; and non-forested.
Mining DOGAMI 1994 SSC-GIS points -- Shows locations of mining sites obtained from the Mineral Information Layer for Oregon Counties (MILOC) database from the Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) (Gray, 1994). Does not indicate actual mining activity.
Population USBC 1990 SSC-GIS polygon 1:100,000 1990 Census population by Census block. Created from TIGER data by the SSC-GIS. Can be linked to 1990 Census of Population and Housing Data at the Block level.
Vegetation IDWR 1992 SSC-GIS polygon 1:250,000 Based on manual interpretation of Landsat Multi-Spectral Scanner false-color infrared positive 1:250,000 scale prints. Nominal minimum mapping unit of 320 acres. Details on data can be found in Kagan and Caicco, 1992, Manual of Oregon Actual Vegetation.
Dams Inventory ODWR 1995 ODWR point -- Developed and maintained under the State's dam safety program. Point locations of dams that are both 10 feet high and displace at least 9 acre feet of water. Lesser dams are not included. Data includes dam height, acre feet of water displaced, and hazard rating.
Fish Distribution ODFW 1995 ODFW line 1:100,000 Spawning and rearing sites. Based on field information collected at varies dates. Subject to update.
Irrigation Water Rights ODWR 1994 ODWR polygon 1:100,000 Based on OWRD Water Rights Information System. Shows allocation of surface irrigation water rights for each quarter-quarter section.
Key watersheds FEMAT 1993 REO, SSC-GIS polygon 1:126,720 Defined by federal scientists and specialists as watersheds that (1) are greater than 6 square miles with high-quality water and fish habitat, and (2) contain habitat for potentially threatened species or stocks of andromous salmonids or other potentially threatened fish.
Stream Gages ODWR -- ODWR points -- Point locations of permanent stream gauges. Associated information includes basin name and a station number which links to detailed stream flow database maintained by the State Hydrologist.
Stream Habitat ODFW, BLM, USFS 1995 ODFW line 1:100,000 Stream survey data developed by various agencies and tied to River Reach stream data by ODFW. Created in Arc/Info using dynamic segmentation. Positional accuracy is considered poor. Dates of field surveys vary.
Stream Temperature DEQ, USFS, BLM, ODFW, ODF 1992, 1993 SSC-GIS points -- Stream temperature data collected by various State and Federal agencies from permanent monitoring sites.
Water Availability ODWR -- ODWR polygon 1:24,000 Water Availability Database (Cooper, 1993). Indicates water availability on a monthly basis determined by subtracting out-of-stream consumptive uses and in-stream water rights from natural streamflow.
Water Quality NPDES Sites ODEQ -- SSC-GIS point -- National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Sites.

Table 17: Other Selected Data for Coquille Subbasin not shown in Atlas (not intended to be inclusive)
Theme Sources Date Contact Type Scale/res. Associated data
AFS Critical Habitats AFS -- SSC-GIS, AFS   1:100, 000 The Oregon chapter of the American Fisheries Society (AFS) compiled this database of "critical watersheds" or Aquatic Diversity Areas (ADAs) throughout Oregon.
Forest Seral Stage FEMAT 1993 REO, SSC-GIS grid 400 meter Fourteen forest cover seral stage classes based on a unification of different USFS and BLM forest cover databases.
Managed Areas IDWR 1990 SSC-GIS polygon 1:100,000 Prepared as part of Oregon Gap Analysis and based on the Oregon Natural Heritage Data Base. Managed areas are defined as areas "with a professional manager or managing agency capable of protecting important element occurrences and other ecological attributes by adopting appropriate strategies for this purpose."
Public Land Ownership SSC-GIS -- SSC-GIS polygon 1:100,000 Scanned from 1:100,000 BLM Surface ownership separates by the SSC-GIS. Some source maps are of older vintage (e.g. 1974). The BLM indicates that substantial problems in ownership identification exist in this data. Includes ownership detail for federal lands and only limited identification of State and private lands.
Soils USDA-SCS 1991 SSC-GIS polygon 1:250,000 State Soil Geographic Database (STATSGO). Shows various soil properties within 1544 acre minimum mapping units. Designed for use at regional, state or multi-county levels. Data is not detailed enough to make interpretations at a county level. Details on this theme can be obtained from the USDA SCS 1991 STATSGO Data User's Guide. Misc. Publication No. 1492.
Threatened & Endangered Species Oregon Natural Heritage Program -- SSC-GIS points -- Indicates the locations of sightings of threatened and endangered animals and plants. The precision of locational information varies from point to point and is indicated in the database.
Water Quality CERCLA Sites DEQ -- DEQ points -- Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) Superfund sites. No sites in Coquille
