City of Corvallis Natural Features Inventory
This Natural Features Inventory was created for the City of Corvallis in 2003 in preparation for a public hearing process. We cannot assure that these maps reflect final decisions about the Natural Features Inventory. For questions about these maps, please contact or 503.467.0750.
The Natural Features Inventory planning area is the Corvallis UGB, which includes 17,963 acres or approximately 28 square miles. Just under half of this land is within the Corvallis City Limits (approximately 8,940 acres). The remainder is currently unincorporated Benton County within the Corvallis UGB. The planning area is divided into three study areas based on watershed boundaries:
- North Corvallis
- South Corvallis
- West-Central Corvallis
Preliminary inventory information is available for the following resources:
- Streams and Wetlands
- Riparian Assessment Areas
- Wildlife Habitat
- Tree Groves
It is important to recognize that information is provided for each of the study areas, but this information does not specifically decide significance or determine which areas will be available for development and which areas will be protected. How To Use This Inventory
The Executive Summary and Introduction provide an overview of the Natural Features planning process and the preliminary results of the inventory. The Natural Features Inventory is divided into four resource types: Wetlands and Streams; Riparian Assessment Areas; Wildlife Habitat; and Tree Groves. Each resource inventory has three parts:
- A Technical Report that describes the detailed methodology with summary tables and analysis.
- Field Data Sheets detailed for each resource site.
- Maps at three different scales with increasing detail. The maps are divided into two categories: Water-Related Resources (wetlands and riparian corridors) and Upland Resources (wildlife habitat and tree groves). There are 90 maps in all.

Step 2. To identify resources in a specific area:

»» Locate information visually using the Resource Summary Maps.
Step 3. For more information about a specific resource site, download the Technical Report to see how the site compares to other resource sites or download the Field Data Sheets for more specific information on that resource site.
