Does not include bald eagle nest site locations or productivity in Glacier Bay National Preserve, the outer coast or Dundas Bay region.. A database of adult bald eagle productivity and nest tree locations collected during ground and aerial surveys in Glacier Bay National Park was developed. Adult bald eagle presence and behavior were recorded. Clutch size, presence of immatures, nest tree condition, nest placement, and nest type also were collected. Surveys in 1994 revealed 183 bald eagle nests in Glacier Bay National Park. Of these nests, 60% were occupied, 22% unoccupied and 18% unknown productivity. Of the occupied nests, 47% were active. Twenty-eight nestling and/or fledgling eagles were counted during the survey. Bald eagle nests were not more concentrated between different sections of Glacier Bay. Bartlett Cove (n = 10), the Beardslee Islands (n = 23), Geikie Inlet (n = 21), Willoughby Island (n = 8), and Hugh Miller Inlet (n = 9) were areas with large numbers of eagle nests. Assessing productivity will be an ongoing project at Glacier Bay. The database provides information of productivity, clutch size, nest and nest tree condition, presence of immatures and adults, and amount of human disturbance of eagle nests in Glacier Bay on a yearly basis starting with 1994. The database also provides geographic locations of bald eagle nests. These locations will be automated in the park's GIS system.
