Comments: These are selected data from the State Soil Geographic Database (STATSGO) which were used in an assessment of soil susceptibility to disturbance stress for rangeland health analysis. Soils factors used were related to erodibility, salts, and shrink/swell potential. The assessment also used climate and vegetation information, not included here. For more information see "State Soil Geographic (STATSGO) Data Base - Data use information" from USDA NRCS, National Soil Survey Center. STATSGO is a general soil association map and attribute database compiled from more detailed soil survey maps, where available, or assembled from available data on geology, topography, etc. and LANDSAT images. The data at 1:250K were designed to be used at regional, multi- state, or river basin levels for planning purposes. They are not detailed enough to use to make interpretations at the county level.
